Democratic Reps. Cori Bush of Missouri and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts joined the family of Black teenager Andrew Joseph III -- who was fatally struck by a car after he was ejected from a county fair -- in a rally in front of the U.S. Department of Justice building Thursday in Washington, D.C., calling on Congress to pass legislation to end qualified immunity for police. Joseph was 14 when he was fatally hit by a motorist in 2014 after he and several other students were kicked out of a student event at a state fair in Tampa, Florida, following accusations that some teens were starting fights and engaging in misconduct, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Two Florida women have been sentenced for their roles in a fatal drug shooting. The Pensacola News Journal reports that 22-year-old Shauntareeya Jones was sentenced this week to 15 years in prison for manslaughter with a weapon. Twenty-three-year-old Shalen Yeldon received four years for accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. Escambia County prosecutors say Yeldon contacted Jaquan Berry in June 2018 to buy marijuana. Jones and Yeldon later met Berry and tried to pay for the drugs with a fake $100 bill.

Hank Williams Jr.'s wife Mary Jane Thomas has died. Thomas died Tuesday in Jupiter, Florida, PEOPLE confirms. Reports of Thomas' age varied, though they range from 58 to 61 years old. A spokesperson for the Jupiter Police Department told multiple outlets — including Fox News — that they received a medical call to the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The patient was then transferred to a local hospital, where Thomas was pronounced dead.
